Crowdsourcing Game Audio: Lessons Learnt
To create the audio for an iPhone game Kes Thygesen is currently developing, the team tried a new approach. This was, for all intents and purposes, a form of crowdsourcing: the act of taking a task traditionally performed by an employee or contractor, and outsourcing it to an undefined, generally large group of people or community in the form of an open call.

New Nanaki's View remixes of DuckTales and Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Chris Holland has posted two new remixes to his Nanaki's View website and myspace page, which are well worth a listen. The hard rock tracks from the experienced game arranger, and with Kwing on drums, are "Pyramid Of Fear" from Zombies Ate My Neighbors and "The Moon" from DuckTales.

428 Announced for PlayStation 3 and PSP in Japan
Chunsoft's Wii sound novel "428: In a Blockaded Shibuya" is currently headed to the Playstation 3 and PSP in Japan in September. The title received a perfect score from Famitsu Magazine when it premiered late last year. The score is by Hideki Sakamoto, Naoki Sato and Shingo Yasumoto.

Core follows directly in the wake of Bit.Trip Beat, which added rhythm-based timing elements to the iconic Pong/Breakout-style paddle-and-balls structure. Now, instead of bouncing the balls, you have to shoot them, meaning that you’ve got to press the buttons with accurate timing to destroy them as they pass by.

505 Games has signed a deal with Paramount Digital Entertainment for the rights to co-publish Wii and DS video games based on the classic musical film Grease. "The 'Grease' movie is a timeless pop culture icon, and 505 Games is eager to bring the first interactive experience based on the film to fans around the world," says 505 president Adam Kline, president of 505 Games.

Hundreds of SaGa series samples added to Square Enix site
The official website for the SaGa series 20th anniversary box set is now online, with brief samples of every track in the 20 disc set. You can search the songs by disc, genre or composer. Original soundtracks include Saga 1-3, Romancing SaGa 1-3, SaGa Frontier 1 and 2, Unlimited SaGa and Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song.

Resonance of Fate battle trailer
