drammatica - Best of Shimomura Review
RPGFan: self-described as an "unabashed gush of love" rather than an actual review...this album is so good, you can go without a few meals to purchase this one. Trust me.

best album of '08. I dare any other album to compete.

It's a hard album not to gush over, to be certain.

What would make me really happy is if this album prompted a revival of what we saw in the early 90s ... lots of orchestral recordings for a VARIETY of games. To this day I'm surprised no arrangements were ever done for SaGa Frontier, when all three Romancing SaGa OSTs (also Kenji Ito) got arranged albums.

As I said at the end of the review, I really look forward to S-E's next "pick" for this type of album. Vielen Dank was pretty good, but this was just phenomenal.

Well, this album blows my mind too, Patrick. Shimomura + orchestra = pure awesomeness. Despite the unfortunate absence of Parasite Eve, drammatica is a exhilarating experience from the beginning to the end. I am especially fond of "Twinkle Twinkle Holidays", "Tango Appassionata" and "Forgotten Wings".

Luckily, there should by some orchestral remixes of the Parasite Eve music in store for The Third Birthday judging by the Tokyo Game Show trailer.
