Into the Score - Episode 22: "Symphony of the Colossus"
This month in "Into the Score", we chronicle Ko Otani's moving and emotional score to Sony's "Shadow of the Colossus" for the PlayStation 2. In the episode, we look at it's quasi-sequel "Ico" as well as the origins of the symphony, with the Baroque Era in particular!

Emotionally, this episode tries to unravel how the music fits into the game; but also, how the absence of music fits in as well. We look at the sparseness of the environment and the grandeur of each colossus - don't miss it!

From what I gather, this awesome episode is part one of two on a history of the symphony and the symphony in vgm, through the lens of extraordinary game titles. The attention to close listening found in this podcast by Kenley makes it totally unique and worthwhile -- definitely a fun listening experience with plenty to discover. I'm really looking forward to the Final Fantasy Tactics installment.
